Why this exists
ProseLoom is being built by someone writing a book, for the problem of writing a book.
What we build toward
The best writing, editing and production tool there is — deep in every part, on the writer’s own machine, owned outright. Something that helps a book get finished, not just started.
How we mean to carry ourselves
Honesty at all cost. No dark patterns, no lock-in tricks, no claims we cannot stand behind. If this website says ProseLoom does something, it does it — and where something is still being built, we say that instead.
We build toward the others, not against them. There are other good tools in this field and we do not pretend otherwise. Export bridges out of ProseLoom — including to our closest competitors — are deliberate. A writer who cannot leave was never really a customer, only a captive.
A small share is fine. We are not chasing domination. A small, loyal readership of writers who find this genuinely useful is a result worth having.
Where we are
ProseLoom is published by Fameria LLC, a New York limited liability company based in Long Beach, New York. It is a small operation, and you will generally be talking to the person who wrote the code.
